Landscape of Memory
While memory is one of the most important functions of human beings, it is also one of the most important capabilities that allow men to perceive and maintain their existence in the integrity of time and space. The general framework of memory, which is considered as an interdisciplinary concept is; experience, sensation, impression, and perception.
For this project, we created one 3D abstract object and had one render from it then printed on a A0 paper. We projected the object’s shadows and lights to the paper with a projection which created an illusion like it was a screen.
Landscape of Memory is created by Yasemin Okday and Mertcan Şeker from Berlin and Daniel Bande from Paris in 2019.
Virtual Circuit
The interactive installation Virtual Circuit explores the relation between reality and illusion, and the cyberspace. Although cyberspace is distinguishable from the physical world, it is often classified as an imitation of the real world, as a simulation.
Virtual Circuit questions whether a simulation can be an imitation if it is boundless and more unique than the physical world in relation to concepts like time and space. Taking inspiration from Baudrillard’s belief that everything we experience is already a simulation, it explores how individual perspectives lead to classification of what is an imitation and what is real. The installation visualises the boundlessness of cyberspace and aims to answer the question of whether it can have its own reality, independent of what we are perceiving as real.
The project is created in touchdesigner. Different patches have been used for the content of the cube, the laser, and the accelerometer. The content of the cube got projected on a wall and the wireframe is projected through the laser. Both of them got integrated and controlled by an accelerometer. A smartphone with a TouchOSC app is used as an accelerometer.
Projection of Emotions
Projection of Emotion is a visualization of the complex emotions and how they are always changing. An integrated sound is created for the visuals which are also symbolizing these emotions.
This sound and video projection is created for a dome screening and created as a fulldome format. Another 360 video render is created for web screening.
Landscape of Memory is created by Yasemin Okday, Camilla Brenninkmeyer and Francesca Villa in 2020.
